Summary of dr. Peter Hack’s sermon on november 27, 2022
Jesus spoke to his disciples about what the kingdom of God is like, which is already near. At first, the Earth was a good place, but this idyllic situation changed with the fall of man. With his coming, restoration began, and finally the Kingdom of God will come to the Earth, which means that truth, peace, and joy will be present through the Holy Spirit.
CURRENTLY, THE PRINCE OF THIS WORLD SETS THE NORMS ON EARTH, AS HUMANS UNWITTINGLY GAVE THE POWER THEY RECEIVED FROM GOD TO THE ENEMY TO RULE.
Satan was a murderer from the beginning. His trick is to blame God for what he does, which makes people doubt that God is good. The Bible clearly states that the shedding of innocent blood brings a curse. The killing of fetuses, abortion, also falls into this category. The state of the world is well demonstrated by the fact that many hysterically fight to continue this activity. Jesus claimed that God’s Kingdom will intervene in this world.
God’s Kingdom is currently a hidden treasure that must be sought out. Effort must be made to find it. There are hidden treasures in the Kingdom of God. Secular people often ask, “Where is God?”
GOD IS IN HEAVEN, BUT GOD’S KINGDOM HAS ALREADY COME TO EARTH, ONLY IN A HIDDEN FORM.
A person can express their love for their fellow human beings by dedicating time to them. This is also true for God; we must spend time with Him. Our schedule communicates our order of importance. Jesus said that whoever finds the treasure – the Kingdom of God – will hide it and sacrifice everything to obtain it. God’s truth is infinite, it cannot be exhausted.
HUMANS MUST MAKE A DECISION; WHETHER THEY WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH OF GOD. WHEN WE REPENT, THE ORDER OF IMPORTANCE IN OUR LIVES CHANGES.
From then on – without giving up our work and other activities – we must prioritize the search for God’s truth. It is good to come to worship with expectation, because then we will receive answers to our questions. Jesus said to take on his yoke, which is easy and delightful. A person can test themselves by whether they find what they do truly easy and sweet; whether they truly have the Lord’s yoke on them.
NOWHERE IS IT WRITTEN THAT HUMAN LIFE SHOULD BE LIVED IN SUFFERING. WE CAN CRY OUT TO GOD FOR WISDOM, AND HE WILL ANSWER AND GIVE US ADVICE.
God’s wisdom is able to keep the believer on the path of truth. In our human relationships, we must strive not to distance ourselves from God.
During the search for truth, sacrifices must often be made. Apostle Paul set an example for all believers in this regard by considering everything as worthless and garbage in order to win the truth of Christ.
Jesus said that blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. We must see the Kingdom of God as of great value, and be willing to push aside everything else in order to obtain it, considering our old sinful life as worthless and garbage. This does not mean withdrawing from the world, but rather bringing life and joy to the world.
THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS WORTH MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE. WE MUST HIDE THE WORD IN OUR HEARTS TO OBTAIN THAT TREASURE.
Let us seek God’s righteousness, search for His truth, and long for His wisdom to fill us. This is the way to remain on the path of truth and to belong to the company of the righteous, whom God will prepare for Himself in the final battle. It all depends on our decisions; on what we consider important. Let us strive to always have the Lord present in our lives and relationships as He guides us.
